COSMIC JOKE

COSMIC JOKE

The double-exhibition by SIMANDL titled “COSMIC JOKE” opens a space between ecstasy, absurdity, spirituality, and self-destruction. In his most radical realization to date, the artist works with the archetype of the jester—a figure who, through humor, chaos, and exaggeration, reveals uncomfortable truths about society and about himself. It was presented simultaneously at two locations: the first half at the ZÁTIŠÍ gallery in Prague, and the second in the tower of the historic Czech castle KŘIVOKLÁT.

The paintings, film, and the entire exhibition concept oscillate between mystical vision, raw honesty, and an ironic commentary on contemporary culture. The project was created in collaboration with CzechedSubstance and breaks taboos surrounding drugs, consciousness, and human nature without moralizing or offering simple answers.

COSMIC JOKE is not just an exhibition—it is a psychedelic ritual, a grotesque performance, and a personal confession of a generation searching for meaning in an age of constant overload.
